What Are Tyson Fury And Drew McIntyre Trading Barbs Over?

WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre have some words for one another.

Fury has spent some time inside the WWE ring. On October 31, 2019, Fury took on Braun Strowman at the Crown Jewel event. Fury won the match via countout after he was booked to punch Strowman so hard he fell from the ring apron to the outside and failed to beat the count.

It may be time for Fury to dabble back into the WWE Universe as he’s jawing back-and-forth with top star McIntyre. Here is the challenge Fury laid out to the WWE Champion on Twitter (h/t Bleacher Report).

“Now Drew, you’ve been having quite a bit to say about me lately. I love to punch your face in honestly,” Fury said. “So grow a pair, step up to the plate, like I say to your mate AJ, and come and fight the master. Me. This is an official challenge video to Drew McIntyre, the WWE heavyweight champion. I already knocked your pal out, Braun Strowman, I’ll do the same to you. Bring it.”

McIntyre didn’t waste much time offering a response to “The Gypsy King.”

“I’m not one of the normal bums you pick to fight, I’m not some punching bag getting paid to turn up and lose. Nice timing by the way, even with a fractured jaw I’m pretty confident I could do 12 rounds with your pillow fists. Nice try, ‘King.’ – Your WWE Champion.”

Fury is coming off a seventh-round TKO victory over Deontay Wilder in their rematch on February 22. The plan is for the two to have a trilogy bout at some point before Fury fights WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua. As of now, Joshua is being targeted to put his gold on the line against Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
