What Did Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury Say To One Another During Encounter?
The world works in mysterious ways. Destined to fight one another, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury crossed paths while on vacation in Marbella. What did the two heavyweight champions say to one another?
Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn set the record straight as to whether he or the fighters planned this as a way to boost interest in a future bout. The WBC and lineal Heavyweight Champion in Fury (30-0-1) and the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Champion in Joshua (23-1) agreed in principle to face one another twice starting in 2021.
“It was amazing, people think it was a setup,” Hearn told Metro.
Joshua ended up posting the encounter on social media with the caption “Sweeeeeeeeeeeet Caroline!! Ohhhh ohhh ohhhhh,” referencing the classic song that is played whenever he fights. Hearn believes the conversation between the two was more of a morale booster than anything else.
“AJ said he was walking down the road and Fury drove up and opened the window and was like, ‘Alright?’… I think he said to AJ, ‘Make sure you beat Kubrat Pulev,’ Hearn stated. “And AJ said, ‘Make sure you beat Deontay Wilder.’ ‘And they both said, ‘I will, and I’ll see you next year.'”
Fury is expected to face off against Deontay Wilder in a trilogy bout in December. Fury must also deal with Dillian Whyte, the interim WBC Heavyweight Champion. It was confirmed by the WBC Whyte would get a shot at Fury or Wilder before Joshua. Speaking of Joshua, he is scheduled to face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev sometime in November.
