What Does Bellator Have Planned For Valerie Loureda?
Valerie Loureda isn’t done dancing.
The 22-year-old prospect has signed a multi-year, multi-fight extension with Bellator MMA. In a release, the ViacomCBS-owned promotion announced the deal following her most recent win at Bellator 243.
“I am pleased to have re-signed with Bellator,” Loureda said. “As I have always said, I am here to show the world the true martial artist that I am and chase the flyweight belt. I was born for this, I am a natural-born fighter.”
Training with American Top Team in South Florida, Loureda (3-0) made her Bellator debut in February 2019. She used kicks and a barrage of punches to take out Colby Fletcher at Bellator 216. Inside Madison Square Garden at Bellator 222, Loureda beat Larkyn Dasch via unanimous decision.
A black belt and Olympic taekwondo competitor, Loureda caused headlines when she beat Tara Graff via knockout at Bellator 243 past weekend. She started dancing in a post-fight celebration as a nod to her opponent calling her out over her social media posts.
“It was really frustrating for me just hearing what people would say, the Twitter beefs that I had about my TikToks and the way I am, it just made it that much more satisfying, and I had to be that much more petty after my fight,” Loureda would end up saying to MMA Fighting.
Speaking of social media, Loureda would end up celebrating her new contract when it was announced.
Fighting all of her life, Loureda will get a chance to show she is the real deal while with the promotion. It is unknown when Loureda will be returning to the Bellator cage.
