What Does Chris Eubank Jr. Want To Do?
Chris Eubank Jr. isn’t shy about what he wants.
Eubank is the interim WBA Middleweight Champion. He captured the gold with his second-round TKO victory over Matt Korobov back on December 7, 2019. Eubank is now riding a three-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost since February 17, 2018.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Eubank said he’s taking aim at all of the major champions in his weight class, including Canelo Alvarez.
“I’m No 1 contender for the WBA world titles. So Canelo has the ‘super’ version and Ryota Murata has the ‘regular’ version. I’m interim WBA world champion, so those are the fights that make sense. I want those belts. Charlo, Golovkin, all these guys with belts in my division, whoever I can get fast.”
Eubank has garnered a pro boxing record of 29-2. He’s scored 22 knockouts on his path to a major world title. His lone career defeats have been at the hands of Billy Joe Saunders and James DeGale.
Eubank recently took aim at WBC Middleweight Champion Jermall Charlo. Eubank said he doesn’t find Charlo to be impressive due to his list of opponents. Charlo is set to put his gold on the line against Sergiy Derevyanchenko on September 26 as part of a Showtime PPV doubleheader.
