What Is Egidijus Kavaliauskas Expecting In Mikael Zewski Fight?
Egidijus Kavaliauskas is looking into his crystal ball ahead of a fracas with Mikael Zewski.
On Saturday, September 12, Kavaliauskas and Zewski will collide in the main event of a Top Rank Boxing card. The action is set to air live on ESPN+. This will be Kavaliauskas’ first bout since December 14, 2019. He was stopped via TKO by Terence Crawford in his bid to become the WBO Welterweight Champion. It was the first loss of his pro boxing career.
Kavaliauskas spoke to Boxing Scene ahead of his showdown with Zewski and he said he anticipates a barn burner.
“I know he’s a tough guy,” Kavaliauskas said. “He’s a fighter. He will be there to fight me. It will be a good fight, an explosive fight. There will be lots of fireworks in there. He’s a guy who likes to bring the fight in the ring. I’m the same way. I like to fight. We’re gonna go at each other hard. It will be a hell of a fight.”
Kavaliauskas’ pro boxing record stands at 21-1-1. He’s garnered 17 of those wins by way of knockout. His opponent, Zewski holds a record of 27-1 with 21 of those victories coming by way of knockout. He captured the NABF Welterweight Championship along the way but lost it in 2015.
