What Is Josh Taylor’s Prediction For Jose Ramirez Fight?
Josh Taylor believes a bout with Jose Ramirez wouldn’t be a pretty sight for fans of “JCR.”
Taylor is the WBA (Super) and IBF Light-Welterweight Champion. Ramirez holds the WBC and WBO gold. The two have been angling for a title unification bout but there’s a hurdle in the way. The WBO has given Ramirez a 120-day window to fight mandatory challenger Jack Catterall.
Taylor is coming off a first-round knockout victory over Apinun Khongsong to successfully retain his WBA (Super) and IBF gold. After the fight, Taylor gave a bold prediction if he were to get the title unification bout against Ramirez (via Bad Left Hook).
“I thought in the Postol fight, it wasn’t a very good performance at all. I do feel he can perform better than that, given the circumstances, but I wasn’t impressed with what I seen from him. I want that fight now. I believe I’ll whoop his ass all day long. I just believe I’ve got the beating of him. I’ve never seen anything from him that I haven’t seen before. So yeah, I want that fight as soon as possible.”
Both Taylor and Ramirez are undefeated. Taylor is 17-0 with 13 of those wins coming by way of knockout. Ramirez has amassed a record of 26-0. In 17 of those victories, Ramirez stopped his opponent. Ramirez’s last outing was a majority decision over Viktor Postol.
