What Is Khamzat Chimaev’s Response To Israel Adesanya?
Khamzat Chimaev wasn’t about to stay silent.
Chimaev has been riding a wave of momentum in a short period of time. He finished his first two UFC opponents within the span of 10 days. Less than two months after his last outing, he flattened Gerald Meerschaert with one punch in 17 seconds.
It appears Chimaev is on the fast track to stardom in the UFC. This will be especially true if he keeps winning in devastating fashion. Chimaev turned some heads by saying he has what it takes to defeat both UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and Adesanya.
Adesanya said the following to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports (h/t MMAMania.com).
“I don’t even know the guy, I haven’t seen his fights yet. I saw the presser and he was just talking shit. He was just casting his net. Have you seen him fight? Rat lip? Meh … Tim said he fought low-level competition. So he thinks I’m an easy fight … that’s interesting. I mean, everyone does this when they’re coming up, casting the net wide. Yeah, keep casting.”
Not one to hold his tongue, Chimaev took to his Twitter account to respond.
@stylebender what do you said about me it will cost you your belt if you’re still the champion Good luck

“What do you said about me, it will cost you your belt if you’re still the champion. Good luck.”
Up to this point, Chimaev has a pro MMA record of 9-0. Along the way, he’s scored six knockouts and three submissions. Adesanya is going into his second UFC Middleweight Title defense this Saturday, September 26. He’ll share the Octagon with Paulo Costa.
