What Is Next For Terence Crawford After Shawn Porter Win?
Terence Crawford put on a boxing masterclass the last time he graced the ring with Shawn Porter this November.
The WBO welterweight champ continued his dominance with a 10th-round TKO, becoming the first boxer to stop Porter.
The loss sent Porter into retirement who had his father displeased for “not training adequately” for the title fight.
Nonetheless, in the last few weeks, he has been linked to Keith Thurman, Errol Spence Jr and Yordenis Ugas, but none of these match-ups have been confirmed yet.
Despite bossing in the welterweight division, he hasn’t been lucky to secure a big-money fight yet.
In case he doesn’t share the ring with any of the welterweight juggernauts, Vergil Ortiz Jr. could be a good option for the WBO champ. The 23-year-old is unbeaten and has grabbed all 18 wins of his pro career via knockout.
He is coming off a win over Egidijus Kavaliauskas, Crawford’s rival in the past.
He has been deemed as one of the best young contenders in the sport right now. Crawford has already turned down the offer to fight the youngster, but that could change in 2022 if Ortiz grabs another dominant win.
