Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira once again has a new date,

Santos vs. Teixeira was initially set for September 12. Following Teixeira’s positive COVID-19 test, the bout was moved to October 3. Then, Santos ended up testing positive for COVID-19 so the bout had to change dates again.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto is reporting that Santos vs. Teixeira now has a new date. The light-heavyweight tilt will now take place on November 7. It’s expected to headline the event on that evening.

Santos had the following to say on the rescheduling of his bout with Teixeira.

“The fight makes sense and Glover and I deserve this position. We deserve to fight and see who gets the title shot. I had a good fight with Jon. For a lot of people, I won that fight. I should fight for the title again now, but a lot of things happened and Jan and Reyes are fighting — but I should be next. And I will prove this again when I fight Glover.”

Santos hasn’t been seen inside the Octagon since July 2019. He challenged Jon Jones for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship. Santos lost the title fight via split decision. “Marreta” had to undergo surgery after tearing ligaments in both of his knees.
