What Major Changes Have Been Made To UFC on ESPN+ 35 Card?

Some last-minute changes have been made to the UFC on ESPN+ 35 card.

During the COVID-19 era, the UFC has been tasked with adjusting to last-minute changes. UFC on ESPN+ 35 is no exception. The promotion needed to find two replacements, one of which was due to a positive COVID-19 test. On top of that, a fight had to be canceled after a weigh-in mishap.

The UFC has issued the following statement on finding suitable fighters to replace Frank Camacho and Matt Frevola.

“Due to a positive COVID-19 test, Frank Camacho has been removed from this weekend’s card. Stepping in to face Brok Weaver will be Jalin Turner in a 165-lbs catchweight bout. Turner, rescheduled from last weekend’s event, owns a perfect finish rate with 8 KOs and one submission.

In addition, Matt Frevola has withdrawn due to injury and will be replaced by newcomer Kevin Croom in a lightweight bout against Roosevelt Roberts. Croom, riding a three-fight win streak, has a finish in 16 of his 21 victories, including 12 in the first round.”

Then there’s the fight cancellation as a result of a bad weight cut. Matt Schnell was scheduled to meet Tyson Nam but that plan has blown up in smoke. That’s because Schnell was pulled from the card after not being able to make it to the scale. The fight has been scrapped.

On Saturday, September 12, we’ll be providing live coverage of UFC on ESPN+ 35. If there are any other last-minute changes made to the event, we’ll be sure to keep you up to speed.
