What’s Next For Nick Diaz?
On September 25, Nick Diaz came back to the octagon at UFC 266.
He fought against his former rival and welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler, and lost via KO/TKO. After Diaz’s third consecutive loss and revealing he doesn’t really like fighting, it’s unclear what next for the UFC veteran.
People were excited to see Diaz in the octagon after six years.
He had his moments and landed effective combinations during the fight, but he gassed out, could not take damage anymore and after suffering some injury, he laid down on the floor and did not get up.

Before the fight, Diaz mentioned many times that he did not want to fight with Lawler, the guy he already beat, not understanding the matchup.
“Whoever set this up is an idiot,” Diaz told Marc Raimondi of ESPN. “I don’t know why I’m doing this. I don’t know why this happened. I should be fighting Kamaru Usman—and that’s it.”
The last time he celebrated the victory was 10 years ago, in 2011, against former UFC champion BJ Penn.
He prefers to face Leon Edwards in a title fight, but it’s unclear if that’ll happen for the 38-year-old.
