What’s Next For Regis Prograis?
Regis Prograis has a fight lined up.
For the first time since his majority decision loss to Josh Taylor back on October 26, 2019, Prograis will be throwing leather. He will collide with Juan Heraldez on the undercard of Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz. The action will take place inside an empty Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. It’ll be held on October 24.
Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe broke the news (h/t ESPN).
When Prograis dropped the decision to Taylor, it was his first career defeat. His record now sits at 24-1 and he’s hoping to rebound from the lone loss. To do so, Prograis will need to hand Heraldez the first defeat of his pro boxing career.
Heraldez hasn’t competed since May 18, 2019. He went to a majority draw with Argenis Mendez.
Prograis is hoping to stay in the title hunt at light-welterweight. When he dropped the decision to Taylor, he also lost the WBA (Super) gold. He was never able to have a successful title defense as he lost his championship just six months after winning it.
