What’s The Latest On Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Kamil Szeremeta?

Gennadiy Golovkin’s next fight is in the works.

Golovkin is the IBF and IBO Middleweight Champion. He was penciled in to fight Kamil Szeremeta earlier this year but he ended up suffering an injury to his calf. DAZN never stopped pursuing the matchup and it appears we finally have a date.

Mike Coppinger of The Athletic reports that Golovkin vs. Szeremeta is likely taking place on November 21. If the bout comes to fruition, it’ll air live on DAZN in the United States.

“Gennadiy Golovkin’s middleweight title defense against Kamil Szeremeta is being targeted for Nov. 21 on DAZN, sources tell The Athletic. The fight was planned for earlier this year before GGG suffered a calf injury. Golovkin has been waiting patiently.”

Golovkin’s last bout took place back on October 5, 2019. He took on Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF and IBO Middleweight Titles. The bout took place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Golovkin won the bout via unanimous decision.

Szeremeta is undefeated with a pro boxing record of 21-0. He last competed on the same card as Golovkin vs. Derevyanchenko. Szeremeta defeated Oscar Cortes in the second round via TKO. It was the fifth knockout win in Szeremeta’s pro boxing career.
