What’s The Status Of Artur Beterbiev vs. Adam Deines?
Artur Beterbiev vs. Adam Deines will indeed take place but there is a delay.
Beterbiev and Deines were supposed to collide in October but plans have gone awry. During the Egidijus Kavaliauskas Vs. Mikael Zewski broadcast on ESPN+ this past Saturday, September 12, Mark Kriegel reported that Beterbiev suffered a rib injury and won’t be able to fight next month. As a result, Beterbiev vs. Deines has been pushed back to December. An exact day hasn’t been determined.
Once he’s cleared to compete, Beterbiev will hope to capitalize on his WBC Light-Heavyweight Title win over Oleksandr Gvozdyk. He was already the IBF Champion going into the fight. To this point, Beterbiev has a perfect pro boxing record of 15-0 and all of his wins have come by way of knockout.
As for Deines, his pro boxing record stands at 19-1-1. He has 10 knockout victories to his credit. After dropping a unanimous decision to Fanlong Meng, Deines won his next two outings via knockout or TKO.
We’ll keep you up to speed on the exact date for the rebooking of Beterbiev vs. Deines as that information becomes available. The bout was supposed to take place on October 23, which falls on a Friday. Whether or not that day will still be targeted for a new headliner remains to be seen.
