When Will Austin Vanderford Reportedly Return To Action?

While his wife has been all over the news the past few weeks, Austin Vanderford is ready to take over.

MMA Junkie was the first to report that Vanderford (9-0) will be making his return to the Bellator cage against Daniel Madrid. The fight would be taking place at Bellator 246 on September 12.

Vanderford made his pro debut in 2017. He competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, beating his opponent but not moving on after. The 30-year-old made his Bellator debut in February 2019. He is 3-0 with the promotion, his last bout a unanimous decision win over Grachik Bozinyan at Bellator 234 in November.

Paige VanZant, who has been in his corner through several of his fights, just recently signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. It is unknown if she will be at the event when he steps inside the cage.

Madrid (17-6) will be making his Bellator debut. He has fought for LFA and King of the Cage, headlining several events. On a four-fight win streak, Madrid last fought in July 2019, beating Chris Harris via submission. Meaning to fight for the LFA Middleweight Title in March, Madrid’s bout was postponed as a result of the coronavirus.

Bellator 246 will be taking place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. The main event will feature Juan Archuleta v. Patrick Mix for the vacant Bellator Bantamweight Title.
