When Will Paige VanZant Make BKFC Debut?

Paige VanZant’s bare-knuckle fighting debut now has a target date.

VanZant was last seen under the UFC banner in MMA competition back on July 12. She was submitted by Amanda Ribas. This was the last fight on VanZant’s UFC contract and she tested free agency. BKFC wasted little time signing “12 Gauge.”

BKFC President David Feldman told MMAFighting.com that the plan is for VanZant to make her promotional debut on November 14.

“It should be the debut of Paige. I know she was sick recently, so we’re going to see if she’s going to be able to get back into training, or if we have to push it. That will also be Jim Alers vs. Luis Palomino and Johnny Bedford vs. Dat Nguyen. So we’re going to have at least two world championship fights on that card and I think we’re also going to have a women’s championship fight on that card as well. It’s going to be a tremendous couple months for us.”

At this time, there is no word on who VanZant’s opponent will be. One thing is certain, however, and that is Feldman can barely contain his excitement for the November 14 card.

“We’re so looking forward to that one,” Feldman said.

VanZant left the MMA space with a pro record of 8-5. In three of her losses, VanZant was submitted. For VanZant, she is happy to focus on her standup solely rather than her ground game. While VanZant has said that she always strived to improve on the ground, she knows her strength has always been in the standup.
