Where To Watch: Tyrone Spong Vs. Sergei Kharitonov Tonight
Eagle Fighting Championship (EFC) is putting on its first US event ever since former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov took over the promotion.
EFC 44 will feature Tyrone Spong (2-0) take on Sergei Kharitonov (31-8) in its main event in Miami, Florida at 6 p.m. ET.
Spong debuted in MMA in November of 2012 against Travis Bartlett at World Series of Fighting 1. He knocked out Bartlett at 3:15 of the first round.
For that bout, he trained with former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and former UFC light heavyweight champions Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.
Kharitonov, meanwhile, has much experience over his opponent. Competing since 2000, the Russian has fought in PRIDE Fighting Championships and DREAM, Bellator, M-1 Global, Strikeforce and GLORY. He’s notched wins against former UFC heavyweight champions Andrei Arlovski and Fabricio Werdum.
