Where To Watch: UFC 283: Glover Teixeira Vs. Jamahal Hill
For the first time since UFC 239 in 2019, the organization is bringing a pay-per-view event back to Brazil.
This Saturday night in Rio, former champion Glover Teixeira will square off with the heavy-handed Jamahal Hill for the vacant light heavyweight title, at UFC 283.
Teixeira (33-8) captured UFC gold with a second-round submission over Jan Błachowicz back in 2021. Following this title match, he would go on to lose the belt to Jiří Procházka in the fifth round of their extremely competitive contest in June, which put an end to Teixeira’s six fight win streak. With Procházka vacating the title due to a shoulder injury, Teixeira finds himself in an opportune position to earn back the belt that he held so briefly.
Hill (11-1) has been storming through his competition in the light heavyweight division, with the only loss on his record coming from an arm injury he suffered during his match with Paul Craig. He holds noteworthy wins over Thiago Santos, Johnny Walker, and Ovince St. Preux. Furthermore, his last 4 wins have all come from finishes, two of which were first round knockouts.
In this battle for the light heavyweight crown, Hill will hope to out strike Teixeira while avoiding positions that could result in his back on the mat. If the former champion can get Hill to the ground, and showcase some of his specialized submission grappling expertise, there is a serious likelihood that Teixeira will have some championship hardware around his waist at the end of the night.

The co-main event of the evening will also feature an anticipated title matchup, this time in the flyweight division. Current champion Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-2) will once again take on former champion Brandon Moreno (20-6-2). Their first meeting resulted in a draw, followed by a win for Moreno, then a win for Figueiredo. Their series is all tied up, and both are looking to prove who the best 125-pound fighter in the world is.
