Which UFC Fight Is Bruce Buffer Looking Forward To?
Bruce Buffer is a fight fan through and through but there’s one UFC bout in particular that he’s itching to see most.
Buffer has seen countless UFC fights over the years. The voice of the Octagon continues to be a fan and doesn’t view his announcing role as something he does only to pay the bills. That’s why he has found himself salivating over one big title fight that is set to take place this year.
Appearing on BJPENN.com‘s Just Scrap Radio, Buffer said the UFC Middleweight Title fight between champion Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa is the one he’s got his eyes on.
“Listen, who doesn’t want to see Gaethje fight, and who doesn’t want him to see him fight Nurmagomedov? We all do. But, Paulo Costa and Israel Adesanya, the build-up to this fight, they hate each other, it is not fabricated to sell it. Everything leading up to this fight is exciting and both individuals are very dynamic and they have the it factor. So much to look forward to, but the Paulo Costa-Israel Adesanya fight, yeah that will be off the hook.”
Adesanya vs. Costa is scheduled to headline UFC 253 on September 26. The reported location for UFC 253 is Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. This will be the second title defense for “The Last Stylebender.”
This fight was initially expected to happen back in March. Costa was coming off surgery and the UFC didn’t want to take a risk. “Borrachinha” insisted he was fine and wanted to compete. Adesanya ended up facing Yoel Romero. The bout ended via unanimous decision in favor of Adesanya.
Both men will walk into the title fight with undefeated pro MMA records. Adesanya is 19-0 with 14 knockouts to his credit. Costa is 13-0 with 11 of those wins coming by way of knockout or TKO and one submission victory. He only went the distance against Romero.
