Which UFC Stars Are Running Their Own MMA Promotions?
Fighters pursue fighting and promoters seek promotion-related futures once their peak years are done, but in recent years, we have seen some major exceptions.
Two of the guys who sit on top of this list are Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jorge Masvidal.
These two athletes have been into massive advertising platforms to conduct their promotions.
“Gamebred” Masvidal launched his bare-knuckle MMA promotion alongside hip-hop artist Anuel AA, which is called Gamebred Fighting Championship. He made it official just before he took on UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 261.
As for Nurmagomedov, he went all in with his Eagle FC once he quit his MMA career with the UFC. He has often been seen learning from his former boss, Dana White, to make his organization one of the best in the world.
There are many other athletes who have been doing their promotions behind the scenes silently.
Derek Brunson has been one of the greatest names in UFC. In 2018, he was seen doing promotions related to Ultimate Battle Grounds.
After becoming one of the candidates to win the Midwest Cage Championship, Johnny Case also became popular within the eyes of promoters. As of now, he has been part of 65 events.
Historically, Wallid Ismail’s promotion also gained a lot of popularity. In 2003, he promoted one mega-event, called “The Jungle Fight.” He has attended 105 events until this date.
