Who Is Erickson Lubin Picking To Win Jermell Charlo vs. Jeison Rosario?

Erickson Lubin has a pivotal fight coming up but he’s got his eyes on the winner of Jermell Charlo vs. Jeison Rosario.

Charlo vs. Rosario will take place on September 26. It’ll be a title unification bout in the light-middleweight division. Charlo will put his WBC gold on the line while fighting for Rosario’s WBA (Super) and IBF Titles.

Lubin spoke to Boxing Scene and gave his prediction for Charlo vs. Rosario.

“He’s definitely hungry, so it won’t be easy on Charlo. Rosario definitely went in there and did look impressive against Julian Williams. But I think Charlo is more athletic. He’s reckless, but not as reckless as Rosario. He has more experience. He’s been in a big fight before like this. So, I feel like those things definitely set him apart from Rosario.”

Regardless of the outcome, Lubin plans on defeating Terrell Gausha and going on to fight the winner of Charlo vs. Rosario.

“I’m looking to get some revenge on that if he [Charlo] wins on the 26th. If Rosario wins, then I’m looking to take all those titles away from him. But, you know, the bigger fight to make is me and Charlo. So, we’ll see what happens between him and Rosario.”

Lubin vs. Gausha is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19. It’ll headline a Showtime Boxing card inside an empty Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Lubin is hoping to defeat Gausha and someday fight Charlo in a rematch. Back on October 14, 2017, Charlo knocked out Lubin in the first round. It is the only defeat in Lubin’s pro boxing career.
