Who Is Robbie Lawler’s Next UFC Opponent?
Robbie Lawler’s next fight is set and it’s against a 170-pounder who is known for his exciting fighting style.
ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reports that Lawler will share the Octagon with Mike Perry on November 21. The welterweight clash will be a part of the UFC 255 card. As of now, it’s unclear whether or not the bout will be slotted on the main card or prelims.
Helwani notes that Perry had to complete an “intensive” 30-day anger management program. This stems from an incident involving Perry at a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas earlier this year. While Perry wasn’t arrested for his physical altercation, the UFC didn’t like what was seen in video footage and forced “Platinum” to complete the program before giving him another fight.
Lawler last competed on August 29 against Neil Magny. He suffered a unanimous decision loss. It is the fourth straight loss for “Ruthless.” He hasn’t emerged victorious in a pro MMA bout since July 29, 2017.
As for Perry, he earned a victory in his most recent outing. Perry defeated Mickey Gall in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 4 back on June 27. With the victory, “Platinum” was able to snap a two-fight skid. He’s hoping to pick up the biggest win of his pro MMA career against Lawler, who is a former UFC Welterweight Champion.
