Who Will Alex Caceres Be Fighting Against At UFC Vegas 8?
The past few days for Alex Caceres have been extremely interesting. Now, not long before his upcoming fight, he will be looking forward to facing another different opponent.
ESPN was the first to report that Kevin Croom, the initial replacement opponent for Caceres, will no longer be competing at UFC on ESPN+ 33. Croom went on to say that due to things completely out of his control, he will not be fighting. He stated he got signed and cut in the span of 24 hours, but he will be back. As a result, it is being reported by MMA Junkie that Caceres will now face off against Austin Springer.
Springer (11-2) made his professional debut in 2007. Competing for CageSport, Bellator, and Titan FC, Springer is currently on a two-fight win streak. The 33-year-old’s last fight was a submission win against Giga Chikadze during Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018.
Chikadze was supposed to face Caceres originally, but he had to back out of the fight.
Caceres (16-12, 1 NC) is on a two-fight win streak. The 32-year-old last fought at UFC 250 in June, beating Chase Hooper via unanimous decision. Making his MMA debut in 2008, Caceres first fought for the UFC in 2011. He is 11-10 with one no-contest with the promotion.
UFC on ESPN+ 33 will be taking place inside the APEX Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will be a light welterweight clash between Anthony Smith and Aleksandar Rakic.
