Who Will Be Competing On The Mike Tyson Vs. Roy Jones Jr. Fight Card?
The card for an event featuring the comebacks of both Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. appears to be taking shape. While there will be interesting bouts taking place, there will be several fights featuring legitimate contenders.
Speaking with TMZ, Mike Tyson gave an update on other bouts on the card. He stated that Badou Jack will face Blake McKernan while Viddal Riley will face Rashad Coulter.
Jack (22-3-3) is 1-2-2 in his last five fights and is on a two-fight losing streak. The former WBC Super-Middleweight Champion last fought in December, losing to Jean Pascal via split decision. “The Ripper” has also won gold within the light-heavyweight division and is a part of Mayweather Promotions.
According to TMZ, Jack will be donating a portion of his fight check (unknown at the moment) to the Badou Jack Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to “continue to give kids across the globe a fighting chance in life.”
McKernan (13-0) made his professional debut in 2016. He fought twice in 2019, winning both bouts via unanimous decision. The 33-year-old last fought in August 2019, beating German Perez.
While young, Riley (4-0) has already made his presence felt in the entertainment world. He helped KSI train for his clashes with Logan Paul. Making his debut in 2018, Riley last fought in February, beating Muhammad Abdullah via unanimous decision. He has two wins via knockout.
Coulter is an MMA fighter (9-5), who has competed for Bellator, LFA, Fury FC, and the UFC. His last fight was a TKO-loss at the hands of Isaac Villanueva in December. “Daywalker” competed in the boxing ring once before; a knockout win against Armando Herrera Jr. in 2015.
Already set for the undercard of Tyson v. Jones is YouTuber Jake Paul taking on former NBA star Nate Robinson.
Tyson v. Jones was just recently moved to November 28 following a September date. The fight will take place inside the Dignity Health Sports Arena in California. The bout will air on PPV and Triller for $49.99.
