Wilder And Zhang Make Their Grand Arrivals

Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang made their ‘Grand Arrivals’ for their heavyweight fight on June 1.

The two heavyweights lost their previous fight, both against Joseph Parker. Wilder lost a one-sided unanimous decision, only winning a single round on the cards. His jab and right hand were missing for large parts of the fight, raising questions over whether he would retire.

Zhang had a better performance than Wilder. He dropped Parker twice. However, he slowed down in the back end of the fight, allowing Parker to win a decision. There is plenty on the line with Wilder representing Eddie Hearn against Frank Warren’s fighter Zhang in this 5 vs. 5 tournament.

Dmitry Bivol was meant to headline the card against Artur Beterbiev for the Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship. The fight was called off after Beterbiev pulled out with a knee injury. Bivol’s last fight was a win over Lyndon Artur. Zinad has a 22-0 record. 16 of those wins were by knockout. His previous fight was a win over Jerome Pampellone last month.
