Wilder-Fury II Close To Final, MSG Set To Host

Just over two months after both men embraced, the rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury for the WBC world heavyweight title will be set for an announcement this week.

According to the Daily Mail, the two fighters will square off on May 18th at Madison Square Garden, which is alleged to be the home of Anthony Joshua’s United States debut a month later against Jarrell Miller.

Per the Daily Mail, the purse could stand to be $64 million split between both fighters, with Fury aiming for a 50/50 split. Either way, the former unified heavyweight champion would be set to make over $25 million for his rematch against Wilder, over double what he made and later donated to charity in the first fight.

One other hitch is Fury wanting neutral judges, in hopes to avoid a controversial decision like what occurred in their first fight in 2018, which necessitated the move from Las Vegas, where the commission prefers to assign their own judges.
