Wilder-Fury Tops Out At 325K Buys

Nearly two weeks after the two faced off in a split-decision draw for the WBC world heavyweight title, the final numbers are rolling out for Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s debut on pay-per-view.

Per ESPN’s Dan Rafael, 325,000 people purchased the Showtime produced event taking place at Staples Scenter in Los Angeles California.

Showtime declined to comment on the figure, but all signs indicated a success for the network, grossing nearly $24 million in revenue with Fury and Wilder making their first major step onto the national stage.

Showtime’s delayed broadcast of the fight on Saturday night drew an average of 488,000 viewers and peaking at 590,000, according to Nielsen Media Research.
