Deontay Wilder (45-4-1, 43 KOs) has verbally agreed to a rematch with Derek Chisora (36-14, 23 KOs), with the former WBC heavyweight champion confirming his interest.
“Hell yeah. We’re gonna make it happen,” Wilder said
Their first meeting in April was a scrappy twelve-round affair that Wilder edged on a split decision, scoring two knockdowns in a performance that did little to silence those who believe the 40-year-old should be considering retirement. The win was a critical one for Wilder, who had suffered back-to-back defeats against Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker before stopping Chisora. While Chisora said the Wilder fight would be his last, he is now also keen on running things back.Â
