Deontay Wilder has lashed out at Andy Ruiz Jr. again after talks of a heavyweight clash show no signs of progressing.
The two heavyweights continue to go back-and-forth about the terms of the split. Wilder has reportedly offered a 70-30 split with the ‘Bronze Bomber’ being the bigger name.
In contrast, Ruiz’s team have demanded a 50-50 split by virtue of the two fighters no longer being world champions. Those comments aggravated Wilder, who referred to the Mexican as ‘fat.’
But this time around, Wilder’s comments were even more controversial.
“This is definitely not a 50/50 fight. He’s talking about a rematch clause. Either he’s drunk or he’s on drugs, maybe both. If this deal falls through, you’ll never see him again in the boxing scene, especially not on PBC.
“Andy Ruiz only has a fourth-grade education. This is a thing that came across my ears, they pulled him out and just wanted him to box.
“If it’s true, shame on the parents. Using him as a boxing sex slave. 33-year-old body with a fourth-grade mind,” Wilder said
The breakdown in talks, however, is the last thing that Wilder needs before a potential fight with Anthony Joshua.
The latter is already on course for a run-out on August 12th, 2023, with Dillian Whyte being the leading candidate.
Although Wilder has stated that he is willing to wait for AJ without a tune-up, staying active will be vital to see a prime Wilder.
