Wilder Praises Ngannou’s Performance Against Fury, Expresses Interest In A Potential Fight

Deontay Wilder has talked up the chances of facing Francis Ngannou after praising his performance against Tyson Fury

The former UFC heavyweight champion’s stock has risen after having managed to go the distance with the WBC heavyweight champion on his boxing debut. And as he did so, Ngannou pushed Fury on the back foot by dropping him in the third round. While he would lose via a split decision, some in the boxing community felt he had been hard done by with the decision. Carl Froch and Carl Frampton were some of the names who gave Ngannou the decision. That performance led to the suggestion that Ngannou could face Wilder since they had been in talks before the Fury fight, as the Bronze Bomber hinted that they would cross paths.

“Ngannou, bro, I love you. Great fight, man. You won that fight big time. You proved to the world your greatness. Great job and I’m looking forward to doing business with you, bro. But other than that, you know, relax, man, enjoy life, enjoy your family most of all. I’ll talk to you soon,” Wilder stated

As of now, Wilder is being linked with a fight in Saudi Arabia on December 23rd, 2023. The name currently being mentioned is Joseph Parker. However, with Ngannou’s increasing popularity and desire to box once again, there is an outside chance that the MMA fighter finds himself on the card. And if he does do so, then Wilder could be a legitimate opponent.
