Deontay Wilder is ready to face Oleksandr Usyk if the latter cannot agree a deal with Daniel Dubois.
Usyk, who is the unified heavyweight champion, has been ordered to fight his WBA mandatory, Dubois.
This was in response to the breakdown in talks over an undisputed fight with the WBC champion Tyson Fury. As of now, the WBA has ordered purse bids in order to get the Usyk vs Dubois fight on.
However, there are question marks over whether or not Dubois will be ready as he did suffer a knee injury in his last fight against Kevin Lerena. Despite coming out victorious, there are fitness concerns.
The purse bid will go ahead on May 25th, 2023. If an agreement cannot be reached, Wilder is expected to step in, as per Dan Rafael’s reports.
With that being said, Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel made it clear that his fighter would be keen on the bout.
“If Deontay was offered the fight against Oleksandr Usyk, of course we would be interested,” Finkel

Get it on @BronzeBomber. You have nothing to lose. Sign AJ for December. Then jump in and fight Usyk this summer. If that big bomb lands on Usyk, I am not sure if he takes it. If he comes to fight you, it benefits your style as you'll land. Very interesting matchup against Usyk.
