Will Anthony Joshua Accept Freddie Roach’s Offer To Train Him?

World-famous boxing trainer Freddie Roach has offered to train former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua before he takes on Oleksandr Usyk in the first quarter of 2022.

Roach has trained several world champions in his tenure. He worked with Manny Pacquiao until the Pacman decided to hand his gloves last month following a decision loss.

Now Roach, who trains boxers at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles, has sent out a message to AJ via IFL TV.

“You know where my gym is. I do run into him once in a while, he’s a character, and I’ve told him all he needs to do is come home,” the coach said.

Joshua hasn’t responded to the offer yet.

In the past, the British star has been spotted training with the likes of high-profile boxing coaches such as Eddy Reynoso, Ronnie Shields, Virgil Hunter and Robert Garcia.

Earlier, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury had also offered to help AJ train. Joshua welcomed the move and affirmed that he will be down to spar with the Gypsy King.

In the first fight against Usyk, AJ lost his IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO titles as he suffered only the second defeat in his pro career.

Despite being small in size, Usyk was able to outbox Joshua over twelve rounds to grab a win by decision.
