Will Brooks Signs With Ares FC
A decorated MMA fighter is going overseas to test his luck. Will Brooks has been signed by European promotion Ares FC.
Brooks (20-5-1) was meant to perform on the Ares 2 fight card, facing Martin van Staden. Due to the coronavirus, however, his debut with the promotion was postponed. This was stated by matchmaker and promotor Alan Murphy.
So I accepted a matchmaking role with ARES in Jan.
ARES2 in 🇧🇪 was cancelled due to COVID19.
Below was going to be the ARES2 card, this time in 🇿🇦. However this is also now cancelled. #FlattenTheCurve

The 33-year-old started his professional career with XFO and DREAM before debuting for Bellator at Bellator 87 in 2013. He beat Ricardo Tirloni via unanimous decision. Following a loss to Saad Awad, Brooks won his next eight with Bellator. He beat Awad in a rematch in the Bellator Lightweight Tournament. Brooks beat Alexander Sarnavskiy in the finals, and faced Michael Chandler twice for some form of the title; the interim title at Bellator 120 due to an Eddie Alvarez injury and the vacant title following Alvarez leaving Bellator.
Brooks made his UFC debut in 2016, beating Ross Pearson via unanimous decision. Losing his next three, Brooks was released by the promotion and joined the PFL in 2018. He won two bouts before drawing with Rashid Magomedov in the quarterfinals, losing via first round tiebreaker. Brooks last competed for Battlefield FC, losing to Gleison Tibau via submission.
It is unknown when Ares will see Brooks in action next.
