Williams: I’ll Beat Hurd Every Time
Julian Williams is confident if he were to ever rematch with Jarrett Hurd, he would defeat him again every time.
Last month, Williams pulled off an upset by dropping Hurd and going on to score a unanimous decision over him to win the WBA, IBF and IBO junior middleweight titles.
Williams, making an appearance on FS1’s Inside PBC Boxing, says he won’t reveal what weaknesses he found in Hurd that helped lead him to victory, but he’s confident that he’ll win again.
“Well, I don’t wanna dig in too much into what I seen because we might have to do a rematch at some point in time,” Williams said. “But I will say that he has a lot of deficiencies and holes in his game that I noticed, not just when I watched tape, but I noticed when I seen him fight for the first time, which was a couple of years ago. I think he’s a really good fighter. But not to take nothing away from him, but just skills are not his strong point. His strong point is his mentality and what he has on the inside.”
It don’t matter, you know, because I feel like as though anybody can make adjustments. But I can make adjustments, too. We could fight 10 times. I’m gonna beat him 10 times. That’s how I feel. No disrespect to Jarrett Hurd, but that’s how I feel.
