With Canelo Injured, Devin Haney And David Benavidez Could Both Fight Again In February

Due to an injury to Canelo Alvarez’s elbow, and subsequent surgery, the Saudi boxing authorities are shifting their focus to make bouts for both Devin Haney and David Benavidez in February 2026.

Of course, the pair are already sharing a card on November 22nd in Riyadh featuring Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde in the main event, and Haney planned to square off with Brian Norman Jr. earlier in the evening. But, if both find success this fall, then it seems that fans can expect a fairly quick turn around for another Saudi Arabian event.

The current online speculation is that if this plan moves forward for the super-event in February, that we could be seeing Haney square off with Teofimo Lopez, or even have a rematch with Ryan Garcia. Meanwhile, most expect that Artur Beterbiev or Dmitry Bivol would get the call to challenge Benavidez.
