Woodley: I Don’t Respect GSP for Moving Up
Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has long said that he believes he needs to beat Georges St. Pierre to go down as the greatest 170 lb. champion ever. But GSP threw a wrench in that plan when he announced his comeback would not happen at welterweight, but rather against middleweight champ Michael Bisping.
Woodley, who last defended his title in an underwhelming rematch with Stephen Thompson, was disappointed when it was announced that GSP was taking a fight with Bisping instead of him.
“He got away right before I got the chance to get my hands on him,” Woodley told TMZ. “And now you come back, and you don’t come back to your own weight class, man? I can’t really respect that.”
