Yan Without Opponent For UFC Moscow After Andrade Injury

A little more than a month away before UFC holds its first-ever card in Russia and the company already has to make a change on the card.

Douglas Silva de Andrade was supposed to fight Petr Yan in a bantamweight bout on the UFC Moscow card, set to take place at the Olimpiyskiy Arena, but according to MMA Fighting, Andrade suffered a foot injury that will prevent him from competing.

Despite Yan not having an opponent for the event roughly five weeks before the even, UFC officials are trying to secure an opponent for the Russian’s second fight for the promotion.

Yan signed with the UFC earlier this year, making his debut earlier this year when he defeated Teruto Ishihara by TKO in the first round. The 25-year-old Yan has fought the majority of his career in Russia, winning the ACB bantamweight championship in 2017 and making one successful title defense later in the year before signing with the company. Yan is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, including avenging his lone pro loss from 2016 when he defeated Magomed Magomedov last year.

The fight card for UFC Moscow is still not finalized, but the main event is a heavyweight bout between Mark Hunt and Alexey Oleinik.
