Yancy Medeiros Signs With Bellator, Will Face Emanuel Sanchez
Yancy Medeiros is booked.
Bellator has signed “The Kid” Medeiros (15-8-0, 1 NC MMA, 6-8-0 1 NC UFC) and will fight with Emanuel “El Matador” Sanchez (20-7-0).
Medeiros is an experienced UFC fighter.
He has been a member of promotion since 2013 and held 15 battles inside the octagon. He shared the cage with fighters like Donald Cerrone, Dustin Poirier and Jim Miller, to name a few.
The last years were not very successful for him since he suffered four losses in a row against Cerrone, Gregor Gillespie, Lando Vennata and Damir Handzovic.
Before that losing streak, he was on three-fight winning streak by defeating Alex Oliveira, Eric Silva and Sean Spencer.
Emanuel Sanchez has had a rough 2021.
He fought three times and suffered defeats in all of them — Patricio Freire, Mads Burnell, and Jeremy Kennedy served his losses.
Freire stopped his winning streaks twice. First, Freire stopped his winning streak by earning a unanimous decision victory in 2018.
After that, Sanchez earned three victories against Georgi Karakhanyan, Tywan Claxton and Daniel Weichel, but at Bellator 255, Freire defeated him via submission guillotine choke in the first round.
This fight will most likely take place at Bellator 279.
The main event will be a bantamweight title fight between Sergio Pettis (22-5-0, Bellator BM champion) and Raufeon Stots (17-1-0).
On the same card, there will be held another title fight between Cris Cyborg (25-2-0) and Arlene Blencowe (15-8-0).
