Yarde-Arthur Added To Dubois-Joyce Card

Two top light-heavyweights will clash inside the O2 Arena on April 11. It was announced that Anthony Yarde is set to face off against Lyndon Arthur.

The fight will be for the Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Title. It is believed this fight will co-main event the Daniel Dubois v. Joe Joyce matchup.

Yarde (19-1) will be looking for his second win in a row. He last fought at the beginning of February, beating Diego Jair Ramirez via TKO. It was a rebound fight following a loss against then-WBO Light-Heavyweight Champion Sergey Kovalev.

Since that fight, Kovalev lost the belt to Canelo Alvarez. Now the title is vacant, giving Yarde an incentive to win this fight and move onto the belt once again.

“The Beast From the East” will face off against “King Arthur” himself. A silver medalist in the 2014 and 2016 English National Championships, Arthur (16-0) won the Commonwealth Title in his last bout against Emmanuel Anim via unanimous decision. This will be Arthur’s first fight since October.

Another bout added to the card is Chris Jenkins (22-3-3) defending his British Welterweight Title against Johnny Garton. Jenkins is 3-0-2 in his last five fights. Winning the title in 2019 off of Garton, Jenkins beat Paddy Gallagher after before drawing with Liam Taylor in November. Garton rebounded from the Jenkins loss with a decision contest in December against Jordan Grannum.
