Yaroslav Amosov is the new Bellator welterweight champion

With this win, Amosov has become the first Ukrainian fighter to win a title in a prominent MMA promotion. Amosov, who has a mouth-watering record of 25-0, displayed sheer dominance throughout the five-round fight against Lima where he dethroned the champ with his wrestling skills. He bagged another victory by scores of 50-45, 46-49 and 46-49.

To say the least, the three-time Bellator welterweight champion struggled against the grappling of Amosov. Lima never went off on the offence nor did he fire his trademark leg kicks to trouble the opponent.

The only time Lima seemed to have threatened the Ukrainian fighter was in the final moments of the last round when he caught Amosov in an armbar. However, the new welterweight champ remained calm and slid his hand from the trap just before the final seconds of the fight.
