Yoel Romero Returns To Face Melvin Manhoef At Bellator Paris
Yoel Romero is seeking his first Bellator win.
After his debut didn’t go how he wanted, Romero is getting another shot of returning to the winning column against Melvin Manhoef on May 6 in Paris, France in the co-main event of Bellator.
MMA was not legal as a sport in France until 2020.
Romero joined Bellator after suffering a three-fight losing skid while in the UFC. He lost to top fighters like Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker, and that defeat streak continued after Phil Davis defeated him in his promotional debut at Bellator.
Manhoef also lost in his last outing. He lost via knockout to Corey Anderson in November of 2020. He’s been part of the Bellator promotion since 2014.
Their co-main event will be the matchup right before champion Ryan Bader returns to face Cheick Kongo in the headliner.
