Yoel Romero Vs. Uriah Hall Reportedly Set For August UFC Fight Night
Yoel Romero will look to get back to being a title contender within the middleweight division. “Soldier of God” will stay in the division and reportedly fight Uriah Hall in August. ESPN reported the news of a clash.
Romero (13-5) last fought in March at UFC 248, facing Israel Adesanya for the UFC Middleweight Title. His fourth bout fighting a champion, Romero lost via unanimous decision in an affair that was controversial for the lack of action. It was his third loss in a row.
The 43-year-old was considering a move to light-heavyweight, but it appears that Romero will continue to compete at 185.
Hall (15-9) is on a two-fight win streak and is 3-1 in his last four. “Prime Time” beat Antonio Carlos Junior back in September via split decision. The 35-year-old was supposed to face Ronaldo Souza at the original UFC 249 in Brooklyn. When the card was moved to Florida, Souza tested positive for the coronavirus, nixing the bout right before fight night.
Romero is tied for fourth while Hall is ranked tenth in the UFC’s middleweight rankings.
A date or location has not been announced yet for the fight. Las Vegas and “Fight Island” are both in play, but nothing has been confirmed by the UFC as of this moment.
