Zaalishvili Wins Gold In Nassau

Gela Zaalishvili would win gold for his native Georgia, as he would get past former Grand Prix silver medalist Stephan Hegyi in the finals of the +100kg final.

The 10th ranked Hegyi was thrown for a waza-ari and held down for 10 seconds as Junior European Championships gold medalist Zaalishvili recorded a stylish win to hand his country their second gold medal in Nassau.

The road the the finals would see Zaalishvili get by Dzhamal Gamzatkhanov by applying a sode-tsurikomi-goshi for ippon by Zaalishvili, opening the door for his championship glory.
