Allen Gets Third-Round KO of Browne

After taking several punches from Lucas Browne, David Allen managed to put the former world champion away with one left punch to the body, getting a third-round knockout.

Both men looked to feel each other out in the first round, with Browne showing signs of power punching early. Allen had little to no head movement in the first round, and that continued into the second as Browne landed several one-two combinations and uppercuts.

Allen, however, may have just saved up his energy.

After taking yet another uppercut, Allen finally let his hands go and landed to the head. Then, after Browne threw a three-punch combination, Allen landed a vicious left hook to the body, right on Allen’s ribs. This knocked Browne down and unable to answer the referee’s count, giving Allen a knockout 58 seconds into the third round.

Allen expressed interest in getting a bigger challenge for his next bout, even toying with the idea of challenging Anthony Joshua on June 1 at Madison Square Garden.
