Alvarez, Lee Call Out Nate Diaz

Earlier this week, Nate Diaz posted a hint via social media that he is looking into returning to MMA, preferably sometime around May or June.

Now, he has fighters lining up waiting to greet him in his first match back in the Octagon. A pair of UFC lightweights — former champion Eddie Alvarez and former interim title challenger Kevin Lee — called the younger Diaz out via their own social media accounts.

Diaz has not fought in the UFC since August 2016, when he lost a majority decision to then-UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor — now UFC lightweight champion — in a non-title contest. Both bouts the two had in 2016 caused two of the highest bought pay-per-view cards in the UFC’s history. Since then, Diaz has been one of the fighters focused on wanting money fights.

Alvarez last competed in early December at UFC 218, defeating Justin Gaethje via KO in a critically acclaimed bout. Alvarez handed Gaethje his first professional loss in this bout.

After a controversial win over Michael Chiesa back in June, Kevin Lee faced Tony Ferguson in an interim title fight in the main event of UFC 216 last October. Lee lost via third-round TKO.
