Tony Ferguson To Box Influencer Salt Papi

Tony Ferguson will make his boxing debut against influencer Salt Papi on August 30 at Misfits Boxing 22 from the AO Arena in Manchester, England.

The fight is the chief support on the Darren Till vs. Luke Rockhold card. Ferguson once held the UFC interim lightweight title and racked up a 12-fight winning streak. However, during the latter part of his career, he lost eight in a row. His last UFC fight was a loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Abu Dhabi in August 2024, but Ferguson never retired.

“I’m not retiring, I’m too old to retire. 40 years old, I’m halfway to 80. I’ve been competing since I was five years old in multiple sports. It’s not like I don’t know anything else. I do. I’m still able to compete. When somebody can run a sprint faster than me, maybe I’ll start to consider it,” Ferguson said

Meanwhile, Ferguson’s Global Fight League debut fell through after the promotion failed to deliver the card. Salt Papi, in contrast, has a 6-2 record as he faces potentially his toughest opponent.
