Following a long career in the UFC, Tony Ferguson transitioned to professional boxing, and he is now confirmed for a shot at snatching the Misfits Boxing interim 170-pound title on December 20th.
Ferguson decided to step away from the leading MMA organization in 2024 following an 8th straight loss inside the octagon. Despite the hard times that he fell on with the organization, ‘El Cucuy’ will be remembered in the sport fondly for his 12-0 run in the lightweight division between 2013 and 2019.
Ferguson had his first match with Misfits Boxing versus Nathaniel ‘Salt Papi’ Bustamante, a well known character in the influencer boxing circles, this past August. The former UFC star finished the fight in the third round, delivering a flury of unanswered punches.
His next opponent, Warren Spencer, is most recently coming off a loss in MMA versus Dillon Danis, but has both an exhibition and one professional boxing win to his name. The fight will go down as part of the ‘Misfits Mania: The Fight Before Christmas’ event on December 20th, which will be headlined by former professional kickboxing champion turned online influencer Andrew Tate squaring off with Chase DeMoor, who carries a boxing record of 4-2-1.
