Tsarukyan, Chimaev Dominate at RAF 14

UFC fighters Arman Tsarukyan and Khamzat Chimaev delivered dominant victories at Real American Freestyle (RAF) 14 on Friday, winning their respective wrestling matches by first-period technical falls in Las Vegas.

Tsarukyan defeated Dillon Danis 10-0 in the main event at the Fontainebleau resort to capture the inaugural RAF middleweight crossover championship.

The UFC lightweight contender scored through step-outs, takedowns and successive gut-wrench turns, overwhelming Danis in just 78 seconds.

The contest ended in controversy when Tsarukyan stepped on Danis’ chest as his opponent attempted to get up once the match had finished. Security intervened to prevent another confrontation following a brawl between the fighters’ camps at Thursday’s press conference.

In the co-main event, former UFC middleweight champion Chimaev made equally short work of Robbie Lawler, defeating the former UFC welterweight champion 11-0.

Chimaev established control with early takedowns before repeatedly turning Lawler on the mat, securing victory with 20 seconds remaining in the opening period. The result extended Chimaev’s unbeaten RAF record to 3-0.

Both winners are scheduled to return at RAF’s November 14 event in Abu Dhabi, where Tsarukyan will defend his title against Neiman Gracie, and Chimaev will challenge Colby Covington for the cruiserweight crossover championship.
