Claressa Shields Fires Back At Cris Cyborg’s Criticism

Claressa Shields has continued her feud with Cris Cyborg following the Undisputed Middleweight Boxing Champion’s latest MMA fight.

The two were former sparring partners on good terms, but their careers went in different directions. Shields reached the pinnacle in boxing, becoming a two-time Olympic gold medalist, three-division world champion and a two-division undisputed champion. Cyborg also made history by being the only Grand Slam Champion in the history of MMA, winning titles in Strikeforce, Invicta FC, UFC, and Bellator.

The pair had plenty to say to each other following Shields’ last performance. Shields is coming off a split decision win over Kelsey DeSantis on the PFL vs Bellator: Champs card in Saudi Arabia last weekend. The fight was at a 165-pound catchweight since Shields could not make 155. Despite this, Shields struggled to deal with her opponent. She narrowly escaped a submission after DeSantis had gotten her in an armbar.

After the fight, Cyborg backed herself to beat Shields as both of them traded verbal shots.
