Last week Oscar De La Hoya was seen with former UFC light heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell, with both men teasing a potential “Golden Boy MMA” brand. De La Hoya told TMZ on Tuesday, that he is finalizing contracts for a Liddell and Tito Ortiz trilogy fight under the soon to be launched MMA brand.
“We’re finalizing contracts, getting everything rolling,” Oscar says … “I’m excited man!”
The deal is in no way official yet, but De La Hoya has acknowledged that he’s been talking with both men.
“I think both guys are beasts, man … they wanna fight each other? Hey, I’m ready.”
Ortiz called out Liddell over the past few months, hoping that the two men could have one final fight against each other, and give Ortiz the chance to finally beat the “Ice Man.”
Liddell has not fought in eight years, when he lost to Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in 2010. Ortiz last appeared inside the Bellator cage in January 2017, when he tapped to Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170.
